Cory plays Pandora's Box

January 01, 2020

Amazing evening last night I was honoured to have the world class International champions Cory Band play through an own composition of mine - Pandora's Box. The music is based on a piano piece I wrote in my teens, but was adapted and extended for brass band in March 2017, and renamed to suit the music's mood. As you listen, imagine a box opening, a trickle of demons spilling out, quickly turning to an unstoppable tide - imagine a cloud of goblins, centaurs, witches, imps circling overhead. Finally the big boss comes out at the end, the box slams shut, but too late - the chaos is now loose in the world, and who knows where it will settle....
